For a very long time now, I have been looking for cloud solutions that would allow me to not only store my files on the Cloud but also synchronize several machines together in a secure and trustful way.
Of course, there are a lot of different solutions: SugarSync, DropBox, Google Drive, Microsoft Skydrive to name only the most famous. I believe I tried them all but let's be honest, I never store private information on any of those solutions, no picture of my family, no personal document that could compromise my personal life...
Still those tools were convenient, simple client and configu... Read More
Microsoft Surface is out fr a few months now. It is the first incursion from Microsoft in the PC hardware world and I have to admit I was expecting a lot for this product on both, the hardware and the software.
Let's start by talking about the hardware. The concept envisioned by Microsoft is quite simple and very appealing: one device that can be your tablet and your laptop, all in one. I have to admit, I love the idea even if this concept could/should have been pushed one step forward to also become a desktop once docked (hopefully Dell, HP, Asus or another manufacturer will come with such... Here I am, in front of the new interface of Windows 8. I love it first, finally an OS that will allow me to have it all, a desktop, a tablet and eventually a phone.
I start playing and after 15 minutes the frustration becomes simply unbearable! You need to re-learn all you knew about windows, how to close an application, how to save a document, how to shutdown your PC and worst of all... how to simply launch an app from the desktop interface.
Don't get me wrong, I believe Microsoft did a good choice integrating 2 different interfaces but you should be able to launch applications from any of ... Read More
Advertisements on every platform are the main source of revenue for developers, and if you have unlimited data, maybe you should just stop ready this article. The problem is, my data plan is NOT unlimited and I don't really understand why I should pay to be serve with unwanted content.
The reason I prefer to pay for a service like Nexflix or Hulu to watch TV instead of paying TimeWarner or Optimum or any oter TV company is simply that is I pay for a service, I do want to have straight access to the content and not waste my time waiting for a TV show while advertisements are trying to sell m... There are tons of file explorers out there on Google Play, some free like ASTRO File Manager, ES File Explorer or some where you'll have to pay like the famous Root Explorer. The market is there but kind of saturated as more and more competition appears without really proposing anything really differentiating. That is when I discovered Solid Explorer.
The first thing shocking about this explorer is its look! Yes a good application on android does not have to be ugly and unfriendly! Solid Explorer offers a really nice interface where the menu are not only well organized but are also partic... Read More
As you may know, I love 7 inch tablets, they are for me the perfect size between mobility and utility. Mobility, the 7" can fit in a pant pocket, not very classy but it fits, also it holds in the hand and utility because, the form factor is ideal to simulated a book or notepad, it also perfectly fits in a car to be used as a GPS or a multimedia station.
Now let's talk about this Huawei Mediapad, also known in the USA as the T-Mobile Springboard. The first impressions are very positive, the build quality is surprisingly good. The aluminum body gives the device a excellent look and feel. Ju... Read More
If there is one thing I do at least once a week is re-installing my phone or tablet, trying a new rom or simply wiping it in order to have it as speedy as the first day.
Some of you may actually do the same thing and if you are familiar with what I am talking about you probably also know Titanium Backup or MyBackup Pro. Unfortunately those two tools are not free if you want to do batch backup and batch re-install of your apps.
One down side of using a application on you device is also the fact that you have you backup locally, if you loose your phone, your backup is gone and you can also... Read More
If you read my reviews, you know that I love the small HTC Flyer, easy to carry, great stylus, good battery life and amazing quality and excellent ration functions/price. Unfortunately even if HTC had everything in hand to propose a great product with the Jetstream/Puccini, they missed the point!
Let's start with what I love about this tablet, first off, HTC did a great job hidding HoneyComb (3.1), and Sense is a super addition making this tablet the first Android dumb-proof tablet on the market (with the Flyer). I mean it and I know a lot of people out there don't like Sense because they b... Read More
More and more tablets propose more for less, more battery life, more functions, lighter, more power but I am still to wonder what makes a good tablet and for that my answer is clear: a balanced compromise between functionalists, user experience and price.
For this reason I decided to give you my personal selection of the best 7" tablets currently on the market and to share with you the pros and cons for each of the selected devices. Let's also be clear, the selection is so big that there is no way to go thru all devices available out there
Huawei Mediapad: My daily driver and I love it,... Read More
One thing I don't like about most reviews on the internet is the fact that they are done without real experience on the device, a few minutes or hours with it and a judgement is done. I understand the concept, giving as quickly as possible an idea and comment on a device even if this idea is wrong. It generate traffic and page views but unfortunately does not really help the person who is going to purchase and use the device.
Once this said, let's talk about the Samsung Captivate Glide and let me tell you, I have been waiting a very long time for a replacement of my HTC Desire Z with a dual... Read More
